When we book our first weddings, we lack the skillset of an experienced Wedding Photographer; the most limiting factor in how much you can charge a client is based on this lack of experience.
The reality is, you pretty quickly qualify yourself in your role, and after a season or two you're as good as the next; now the most limiting factor in how much you can charge your clients is simply how much your target client is willing to pay.
I've jumped a few pages here, so let me explain...
When you start out, your target client is usually pretty simple; a couple who are looking to pay as little as possible for their wedding photographer and are willing to take a chance on someone new.
As you continue along the journey of growing your business, the legacy of these clients lives on... whether that's reflected quite literally in your portfolio, or arguably more damagingly in your mindset.
Your foundational experiences in your business were interacting with clients who didn't value your experience as a photographer, who didn't connect with your portfolio of work or who didn't value how you perform under pressure. And how could they, you weren't there yet...
